Terms of Use
Last updated: 26 May 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the UtilityPilot website (utilitypilot.com.au) and the services we provide. UtilityPilot is a trading name of NXC PTY LTD (ABN 13 678 784 819). By using our website or our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. About our service
UtilityPilot is a free, independent energy plan comparison service for Australian households. We work with our comparison partner, Utility Market, and a panel of Australian energy retailers to help you find a plan that may suit your usage and budget.
We are not an energy retailer. We do not sell electricity or gas. Any energy supply contract you enter into is between you and the relevant retailer.
2. No exhaustive comparison
We do not compare every retailer or every plan available in the Australian energy market. The retailers and plans we show are those available through our partner network at the time of your enquiry. You may wish to also review:
- Energy Made Easy (energymadeeasy.gov.au), the Australian Government comparison service for NSW, QLD, SA, ACT and Tasmania;
- Victorian Energy Compare (compare.energy.vic.gov.au), the Victorian Government comparison service.
3. Accuracy of information
We do our best to ensure the information on our website is accurate and current, but energy plans, pricing and incentives change frequently. We do not warrant that information on the website is complete, accurate, or up to date at the time you view it. You should confirm specific plan terms directly with the retailer before signing up.
4. Your obligations
When you use our service, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and current personal information;
- Only use the website for lawful purposes;
- Not attempt to interfere with or compromise the security of the website.
5. How we are paid
Our service is free for households. UtilityPilot and our partner may receive a commission from the energy retailer when a customer chooses to switch to a plan through us. This does not change the price you pay the retailer.
6. No personal advice
Anything we say or show on this website or during a call is general information only. It does not take into account your personal circumstances, financial situation or specific needs. You should consider whether a plan is appropriate for you before signing up, and seek independent advice if needed.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by Australian law, UtilityPilot is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the website or our service, including any decision to switch energy plans. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Third-party links
Our website may link to other websites operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of those websites.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the website after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
